OH BUG!!

OH BUG! (text for a picture book)

One day, Bug, who wasn’t really a bug, but rather was a cat, woke up from a nap.

Bug felt lonely. There was no one around.

Where was everyone?

Bug heard a noise in the kitchen.

Bug scampered around the corner into the kitchen.

The was Kate, making lunch.

Bug said “meow?”

Kate kept making her sandwich.

Bug said “MEOW!”

Kate looked down and said “Oh Bug!, Not now, I am busy.”

Bug looked sad, but then heard a noise in the living room.

Eric was laying on the floor, playing videogames.

Bug walked right up in front of him and said “meow?”

Eric looked over the top of Bug and kept playing his game.

Bug sat up tall, and said “MEOW!”

Eric said “Oh Bug!, Not now, I am busy.”

Bug looked sad.

Then Bug heard a noise down in the laundry room.

She zoomed down the stairs to the laundry room.

Jessica was folding laundry and did not look happy.

Bug said “meow?”

Jessica frowned and kept folding the towels.

Bug said “MEOW!”

Jessica sighed and said, “Oh Bug! Not now, I am busy.”

Jessica looked sad.

Bug looked sad.

Bug slowly slinked back upstairs.

Didn’t anyone love her today?

Bug went all the way upstairs to go take another nap.

Then she heard another noise.

It was coming from the big bedroom.

Bug tiptoed into the room. She looked around.

There on the bed was Mom, reading a book.

Bug lept up to the bed and put her face between Mom and the book.

Bug said “meow?”

Mom looked down at Bug.

Bug said “MEOW!”

“Oh Bug!”

Bug’s ears drooped, she looked sad.

“Of course I will pet you!” said Mom.

Mom petted Bug. Bug was so happy she purred and purred.

Bug looked happy. So did Mom.
